GrowN22 C.I.C. and Heartlands High School are delighted to announce an exciting partnership agreement which will provide Heartlands High School students with a new allotment space to grow a large variety of edibles, a sensory garden for education and a unique biodiverse woodland area for exploration
GrowN22 C.I.C. was awarded a grant from Capital Growth and work began on the school’s exciting project at the beginning of 2021. The prime focus is to provide educational opportunities to the students on the benefits of ‘growing your own food’ and to begin sharing the harvested crop with the local community.
The new allotment features a variety of growing beds fit for production yields of vegetables and features entwined pathways and a unique pollination zone to attract bees and butterflies. The sensory garden will offer students an educational and therapeutic way to explore different types of plants. In late 2021, work will start on the new Woodland area to enhance the school grounds biodiversity.
