GrowN22 are excited to share with you that we are working with Haringey Council and Jan Kattein Architects to bring Haringey’s first parklet and the first of its kind in London, to Noel Park! After securing funding from the Mayor of London’s Grow Back Greener Fund, this unused section of road at the intersection of Gladstone Avenue and Vincent Rd will be transformed into a community-led space for people to connect with nature 🍃
The space will accommodate community events and workshops hosted by GrowN22, as well as being a space for rest, relaxation and exploration 🌿
GrowN22 have already been working with the young people at Noel Park Primary School to get their vision of what this space outside their school could become, and we have received great feedback from local residents to create a very special Parklet for everyone to enjoy!
In anticipation of the arrival of the Gladstone Parklet project, GrowN22 and Haringey Council invite you to take part in a time capturing event by submitting a letter, note or picture to be included in the burial of a time capsule at an event in June 2022.
"A residential parklet can be used both as a resting point for people, and a play area for children" from Living Streets
Join the London Parklet campaign to help spread the word about the benefits of community Parklets
Between 1st - 31st May 2022 local people living in the Haringey will have the opportunity to contribute to Haringey’s first official Parklet by providing an artefact such as a letter, note or photo for a time capsule! The time capsule will be buried at the community site in early June 2022.
All content for the time capsule will be printed and paper based, so will be in the form of photos and letters. No objects will be placed into the time capsule.
Please send your content to hellogrown22 (at) gmail.com or via our contact page to be printed for inclusion in the time capsule event by 31st May.
